Storefront Framing Systems and Curtain Wall Systems

Storefront doors, store front framing, commercial storefront, curtain wall, impact and non-impact, reflective glass, replacement glass and service. Naples and South Florida.

We offer storefront framing systems and curtain wall systems along with storefront doors that are code compliant and meet or exceed the building code requirements for impact and non-impact designs, design load pressures, air and water infiltration and ADA.

Standard storefront framing systems can be used for interior applications such as office partitions and meeting rooms. These systems are very common for exterior usage as well. Mostly all commercial buildings have some type of aluminum store front system with storefront doors.

There are two basic types of systems: impact and non-impact. The general code in the State of Florida requires that exterior, new storefront systems either meet impact code requirements or have some type of storm protection system installed.

The impact system has much stronger framing members, doors and a three point locking mechanism along with a laminated glass designed to meet impact from flying debris and wind load pressures. The glass is generally glazed with a vinyl on one side and caulked with a silicone on the other side. The silicone will help hold the glass in the frame when impacted by flying debris. It also acts as a waterproofing agent.

Storefront systems can accept 1/4″, 5/16″, 3/8″, 7/16″, 1/2″, 9/16″, 5/8″, 3/4″ and 1″ glass. 1/4″ glass is typical for non-impact systems. 3/8″ and 1/2″ is used for butt glass picture windows and segmated picture windows. 3/4″ thick glass can be also be used when the height exceeds the limits for 1/2″ glass. 7/16″ and 9/16″ are common impact glass thicknesses. 5/8″ and 1″ glass is a common thermopane (insulated) unit comprised of 2 pieces of 1/4″ glass with a 1/2″ spacer in between. The space is filled with argon gas to prevent condensation.

Curtain wall systems take the place of storefront systems when an opening is too large and/or exceeds the height limits or design load pressures. Curtain wall is used for both horizonal and vertical applications like, entrance ways on a building, atriums, ribbon and strip window, slope glazing and to wrap an entire building.

Curtain wall systems use different sizes of tube mullions for structural framing and a pressure cap with a cosmetic cover to hold the glass in place.

We offer all types and styles of storefront doors and hardware for exterior and interior applications. The doors are adaptable to accept mostly all types of hardware.

All glass (frameless) walls and doors are available for interior use as separators, partitions, offices and other applications.
